A FOUNDER LED VISION

Mezcalito Chelsea was founded in 2018 by Laura Geas, just off the historic King’s Road. Created as more than a restaurant or bar, Mezcalito reflects Laura’s belief in hospitality built on warmth, atmosphere, and connection. From the way guests are welcomed to the energy of the space, every detail is designed to feel natural and considered.

FROM DESIGN TO HOSPITALITY

Before Mezcalito, Laura’s career spanned banking and interior design. She went on to open the acclaimed Souleiado & Les Olivades showroom on King’s Road, known for its Provençal fabrics, handcrafted glassware from La Verrerie de Biot, and carefully curated Mediterranean produce. This background shaped her eye for spaces that feel layered, comfortable, and lived in, an approach that now defines Mezcalito’s character.

TRAVEL, CULTURE, AND INFLUENCE

Years of travel across Montevideo, Morocco, Senegal, Brazil, Colombia, Beirut, California, and Alicante deeply influenced Laura’s creative perspective. Inspired equally by global cultures and her grandmother’s Mediterranean love of food, wine, and hosting, Mezcalito became a natural next chapter. A place where international influence meets relaxed, generous hospitality.

The story behind Mezcalito

Creating Mezcalito Chelsea

Mezcalito was created to fill a gap in Chelsea. A venue offering refined food and cocktails without losing warmth or energy. A space that evolves throughout the evening, from relaxed dining to vibrant late night atmosphere.

Today, Mezcalito Chelsea is recognised for its exceptional agave collection, with over 450 tequilas and 100 mezcals, one of the largest in Europe. The cocktail menu is inspired by a custom designed map of Mexico, with drinks named after regions such as Michoacán, Jalisco, Zacatecas, and Nayarit. Signature serves include the Margarita Picante and Mezcal Paloma.

A space designed for connection

Mezcalito’s interior reflects Laura’s background in design. Warm tones, polished brass accents, and subtle references to Mexican culture create a setting that feels both vibrant and welcoming. The venue offers three distinct areas. A quiet corner for conversation, intimate booths for dates and small groups, and a semi outdoor terrace with a retractable roof and heaters, allowing guests to enjoy the space year round in the heart of Chelsea.

Food rooted in authenticity

The food menu is led by a proudly Mexican Head Chef, ensuring authenticity remains at the heart of Mezcalito. Guests enjoy freshly prepared guacamole, baja style fish tacos, beef birria quesadillas, ceviche, and churros, all designed to be shared and enjoyed without formality.

A family run business

Today, Mezcalito is run by Laura alongside her son, Titi, who manages the day to day operations. Together, they ensure the venue continues to evolve while staying true to its founding values.

A weekly programme of events includes Taco Tuesdays, Mariachi Wednesdays, Tulum inspired Bottomless Brunch, and Sunday Industry Nights. Mezcalito is also available for private hire, celebrations, and special occasions.

Expanding the Mezcalito vision

In December 2023, Mezcalito expanded with the opening of Mezcalito Brompton. Created in response to guests wanting the night to continue beyond dinner, the venue introduced a late night table led lounge experience in Chelsea, with DJs and live music.

Mezcalito Brompton carries the same philosophy as Mezcalito Chelsea. Life, joy, music, and togetherness, without limits.

More than a venue

For Laura Geas, Mezcalito is a second home. It represents her journey from banking to design to hospitality, and her desire to create spaces where people feel welcome, relaxed, and connected. Rooted in Mediterranean values and inspired by Latin culture, Mezcalito continues to invite guests to celebrate flavour, fiesta, and shared experience in the heart of London.
